Adam Johnson Trial Verdict

Yes, that what was said referring to that meeting on March 2nd. You said that

"I absolutely believe the Durham Police force when they say they met with Byrne on May 4th and allegations were discussed in detail. That's forgetting everything else that links to his being absolutely true."

Yet the meeting on May 4th was between Johnson, his dad, his Qc, and part of the time Byrne. I have found nothing anywhere on line that points to a meeting between Sunderland and the police on May 4th, yet somehow the police were able to discuss allegations in detail at a meeting that they weren't even at. Clever fuckers them cops like.

Like I said, I think you got yourself a bit confused with all the speculation that's going about. By all means have a pop if you think the club are in the wrong but at least get the basic f***ing facts correct first.

Again, not at all. More than enough organizations have pulled the club up on this. We are the only one who won't answer it.

Bollocks to it. It will run its course. I know my feelings on it.

Of course I bloody am. I know loads of people on here, I am involved within the community and help loads out with Sunderland related matters.

I want the person who was privy to such information to accept they made a gross error in judgement to resign. That is exactly what I want. The allegations and information she has access to, should not have meant that I could or should have the opportunity to cheer a sex offender. Her, pathetic lack of judgement, meant that I did.

People may call that false outrag. I don't think it is, enough know me on here and what I stand for; it's totally unacceptable.
I have never agreed more with a post on here.

Theres a lot of things the club management have got wrong, been a litany of mis-management since Keano really.

But this issue is not one of them IMO.

Still waiting for a link to the May 4th meeting between the club and the police if you wouldn't mind. I know you're busy an all that, but surely it won't take up too much of your time.

I have an 8 year old. I just said AJ got drunk and did some very silly things so he's not setting a good example as a footballer. She was happy with that explanation. It never crossed my mind to get my picture in the paper.
I preferred to explain in a little more detail whilst protecting my son from the detail. He is bright and relentlessly inquisitive so me glazing over the topic was never going to suffice. I doubt anyone seeks out getting their picture in the paper

He was an alleged sex offender in which the club were told, by police without doubt on May 4th.

That SHOULD have been enough for him to not appear again.

waste of time. It really is.

So, on the eve of the derby, some girl alleges half the Sunderland team sexually abused her and you're stating you want them to be suspended indefinitely.

I do, but while I absolutely condemn what he did, I'm not going to not defend people who are being proved guilty until innocent without the same recourse as he was, In other words the club. I've never supported any of the comments you've alluded to, I wouldn't ever. Show me if I have and I'd honestly hold me hands up.

I wasnt implying you had, just that this thread needs to die so those idiots stop.

You claimed that the police provided details when they said they didn't. If you've got a link to somewhere where the cops actually admit to passing on details of the case then I'll accept it. And I'm on about details, not just telling the club what Johnson had been arrested for. But at the moment you haven't. All you've done is speculate and passed it off as fact, and seeing as you seem to have an anti-Byrne thing on the go, I'm inclined to think you were just using this as an axe grinding exercise.

Backed up by his sock puppet C3PO and that other f***ing muttonheed Sweepea.

No bother. I have received plenty of messages from said post asking to use it elsewhere. I have declined. It's my thoughts and people can come up with their own opinion.

Offially done.

Now let's beat them ***** tomorrow

So I'm not going to get my link to a May 4th meeting between the police and the club. H'way man, this is important. If what you're saying about details being passed on is true I want to know but I can't find any mention of it anywhere. Surely you want people to know the truth, don't you?

We do disagree. I think it's been accepted, nearly by everyone that information was provided to the CEO of our club on May 4th, linked to the severity of the case. It was ignored and he as allowed to play. I really, logically can not see how anyone can deny it.

It wasn't ignored. Action was taken based on the limited amount of information available. They put safeguards in place, but at the time chose not to hang him out to dry, after all, it was only an allegation and he may well have been innocent. They suspended him initially buying themselves some time to get legal advice in the process.
They could have sacked him immediately, but they ran a risk of litigation later, and of course, losing an 8m asset to a rival (which like it or not is always going to be a factor too - they have a legal obligation to shareholders too).

Before the trial began, it would be hard for them to sack him, because he was still technically innocent, and he wasn't (as yet) seriously damaging the club reputation, nor were they facing serious pressure from 3rd parties to dismiss him (valid grounds for dismissal). So faced with that - they had to let it play out in court or until he pleaded guilty.

If they are guilty of anything, it's of giving him the benefit of the doubt, only for it to be later proven to be a mistake. It could easily have gone the other way with them not playing him for a whole year, and he turned out to be innocent. I would imagine behind closed doors a copper will have said 'off the record' (so to speak) that it wasn't looking good for him, but at the same time, the club officially shouldn't have had much info on the available evidence, only of the allegation, and just enough of the nature of it to aid police enquiries - essentially no more than necessary.

sorry none of that post makes sense.

Couldn't agree more, I said that about, what seems 3000 years ago.

Yes the club are being dragged through the mud but this thread should be locked and deleted because people are now openly mocking and ridiculing the victim. Its f***ing sick.

Yeah ok

how about ...£100,000 for a finger ? will she recover ?
You should wait before she does seek compensation before getting angry about it, at this moment in time it's a Daily Mail article (the ever so trustworthy Daily Mail) that has reported this and has seemingly vanished that you're basing all this on.

Same way I explained it to my son who had his poster on the wall till the day the charges came out.
Awkward, but just tell him his hero was a talented football player who was also a rather bad man.
Aye, I think I saw that mate. Funny how one man freaked out and the other coped. IIRC you're north of the border? - always a lot of common sense from the borders up over ;)
