Adam Johnson Trial Verdict

Personally I don't think the club have done anything wrong. AJ lied to them and I totally understand why, he was desperate, he knew he was fucked and he tried to buy himself time to possibly sort it and save money for lawsuits etc. I no way condone what he has done but I understand why he lied.

Dailymail online has an article about the lass going to sue Johnson for £1 million. Wouldn't be surprised if she trys to bring a lawsuit against Sunderland after the police statement said something along the lines of "the victim has asked the police why was Adam Johnson allowed to continue playing for Sunderland after his arrest"

There's a surprise.

But honest people are making important claims without being in possession of all the facts.

Surely they should be allowed to spend days of their lives demonstrating their impressive grasp of employment, as well as, common law.

After all demanding answers, on here, is much easier than actually getting off their arses and asking the club directly.

Fair enough they have high principles and have made a stance for justice but they can do this from their desk at work.

If Gandhi had been able to use the internet he wouldn't have worn his sandals out

Have you got copies of the letters you sent off to the various authorities with regards to Hillsborough??

So they should come out and vigorously say this. Then this circus will end...

1) could they act on documents as any action taken would have been prejudicial.
2) the court system was used (I think abused) and he only pleaded guilty on the day of the trial.

I also feel the prosecution was right, he delayed pleading guilty in order to save up as much of his £240,000 a month as he could because he knew he was finished

The more I think about this and as I don't have the full facts, I just think Johnson is a shit. He has done everything he can to get off with this. He has also tried to succer his teammates into this as well and in his defence he has tried to destroy the good name of the club, the supporters and the people of this city.

He thinks of no one but himself.

Now I hope he gets a long sentence and rots in jail

Is it noticeable that since he and fletcher left, the team has been playing with heart. Maybe a great big weight has been taken of the teams shoulders
1) Yes. Sacking him couldn't have been used as evidence against him in court. Much in the same way Fletcher not acting as a character witness couldn't ramble him either.

I honestly believe that there are people who have decided they're outraged and also those who are lapping this all up for their own reasons.

I also believe that a statement from the club would lead to more questions and if anything was left out, that the club weren't at liberty to divulge, it would lead to another thread exactly like this one.
The statement would be forensically examined and analysed on here, by the droves of amateur barristers, until we arrived at another identical situation.

Once again we'll take it as read that you recognise there's a lot of legitimate opinion amongst those critical even though you continue to generalise negatively about all of them in the way you phrase your posts.

If they've had the documents and passed them on then that will still be a minefield of how long they had them, did they look at them etc.

There's a good chance another statement would just add fuel to the fire.

I was never asking for anything in regards to Hillsborough, unlike some people on here.

So it's a totally different situation but don't let that stop you.

At least if there has been a monumental fuck up we can blame a mag

I don't have the time to list every poster and categorise them, neither do you.

To clarify, only those that qualify are included in my comments, the others don't .......... there you go.

Apply that simple rule to all my posts and it'll save you having to type out a response every time ;)

Even if the club were looking after their own self interests by playing Johnson despite knowing everything, we weren't legally obliged not to play him. No chance of a case against SAFC.

And that, is exactly what would happen ........ I half suspect that some of the 'experts' on here want another statement for just that reason.

Do you blame her? I'd sue him too.

Personally if I'd been sexually abused and it had ruined my life I wouldn't want the money because of what it represented. Up to 1 million is a ridiculous sum just because AJ has money. Ched Evans 'victim' (I say that because his prosecution was a joke) got nowhere near the amount and she changed her identity! I don't think you should be able to get sued more just because you have more in these situations.

I think it's absolutely clear we've done everything correctly within the law.

There's still the question of whether what the club did was morally right but I wish people wouldn't assume they were in the wrong based on the poor evidence seen so far.

Could the club not take civil action against him for doing this?

If they came out with a statement that clarified they hadn't seen any text messages or interview transcripts in either of the meetings in question, how would this not calm the situation down?
The fact is their silence is fuelling the fire far more already.
