Kept him to try and save our season and keep us up, it's all about the money losing that huge TV deal. I think it was more of you help us and we'll help you with £60k a week

Pathetic response. "Some documents, tactical decision making" completing avoiding the issues.
Hardly. He changed his plea to guilty on the day the trial began, if he had previously admitted them to the club he would have had to change the plea then.

Where does that statement answer whether the club knew he admitted in the police station kissing the girl/ admitted kissing the girl in general? That is the allegation that has been put to SAFC.

What the club are saying on my reading of it is to ignore the question of what they knew / didn't know and instead say 'well he wasn't pleading guilty so that's what we went along with, if we knew he was pleading guilty we'd have sacked him'.

But that isn't the issue. The issue is whether *despite* knowing he was pleading not guilty, they knew what he was admitting to. That's statement doesn't answer that IMO.
Reading between the lines but I'm not sure they know exactly what accusations they're answering. They use words like "it is understood" and that they're learning about it "from the media".

It was obvious the shit been chucked at the club was a desperate attempt by his legal team to paint him in a good light. Good riddance you horrible rat, you have let many people down and have got exactly what you deserve.

They knew what went on if they had the transcripts and the evidence and I dare say they'll of known he was pleading guilty. I'm not having that statement like, Byrne again proves to be bulletproof

They are saying he didn't?

They're not saying that at all.

They are saying that they were advised that his plea was going to be not guilty. Despite not denying that they knew the detail of what he had done, they used that as a fig leaf to cover themselves when they wanted to play him for another year, while waiting for the trial.
