If it’s anything like the one at the end of our street it gets emptied within ten minutes of the first snow/ice.
Same. Two on our estate get emptied quicker than they can fill them.

Would be a real dick of a move to fill a dump bucket and stick it in the garage in say, July wouldn’t it?

This. We had it last year in the snow. We were not taking the car anywhere most of the time and when we did there it just went over the snow, it was only a few cm deep and tracks formed quickly. Where we walked was rough rutted snow with no slippage.
A couple of the neighbours were out, practically catching each snowflake as they fell. Their drives were like and ice rink and lethal. What made it worse was the piles of snow at the side melted a bit each day, made the drive nice and wet and it froze overnight. They still had piles of snow doing this for a couple of days after all mine had cleared, because mine was spread thinly.
It is the same people who wash their car once or twice a week. Life is too short.
