Abdul Fatawu - continuing news

His goal record over his career is canny for a wide player.

I think we may well extend his contract, buys time for us to bed Talbi (who I've read can play on the right )and the new lad in and/or look for the right starter.
Talbi started the first 3 or 4 games here on the RW. Looked ineffective there, he can't beat a man on the outside and his instincts are all wrong there. So much better when moved to the left.

Mundle looked class in the championship, not so much in the PL. Clarke is absolutely bossing it again in the championship, when he was in the PL, not so much. I'm sure Adingra and Talbi would take the piss dropping down.

The step up is huge and I'm not sure this lad would be as class in the PL as everyone seems to be making out, especially for the kind of fees getting banded about.

I have the same view

He did play EPL last season. Obviously not overly successfully as Leicester got relegated but he was one of their star players in a poor team.

However, wouldn't disagree with the claim he grabs the odd headline rather than grafts for 90 mins.

If Palace are having a fire sale I'd rather we bid for Sarr. Might not cost much more than Fatawa

I’d have thought if they sacked manager a week earlier and got new guy in, he could have been leaving.

Could have seen new guy wanting funds to rebuild side, but looks like they mightn’t even have someone in before deadline now.

Was inured most of his PL season wasn't he?
I just think for the 30/40m mentioned, it's a big gamble when we've had players of our own look like superstars in the championship. Leicester fans don't seem too bothered about the lad neither.

I'd worry we'd end up with yet another lad in the mould of Talbi and Ta-Bi who's going to need time to progress, and at the figures quoted, I don't believe he pushes us on to the next level.
Wide right, cutting in.

Sometimes more of a free role, 10.

We should be in for him, absolutely. He fits our system. Homegrown. Reduced fee.

Sure, he’ll have other offers. But we have to be in for him.

I think he'd be much better buy than Fatawua.
Less tricky, but still direct and has better workrate. Has also showed he can hold his own in the PL.

Watched fatawu a few times on tv only , and I must admit he looks a great prospect in the right team and environment he could be a bit special … if the price is right it’s a yes from the twang
