A breakdown of trust

Only 10k renewed their season tickets.

I think that speaks volumes.
It speaks to your current situation, but your club has been mismanaged for years. From an outsider (an admittedly biased one) this looks less like fan action, and more like fan apathy. Man Utd fans don't like the type of player their club spends tens of millions on and there's protests, Arsenal fans are sick of only getting into the Champions League every season and they protest. Sunderland barely survive for years, sign and sell badly, appoint badly (on the whole) and suffer double relegation and yet i can't remember any organised action by the fans to say that it's not ok.

Not everyone wants to protest. I know loads of lads who have simply said, “fuck it, I’m not going back, no dramas”

How many times has Ashley gave a toss about your protests? None.

I get that, plenty of Newcastle fans didn't protest.

On our protests, dunno if they made an impact, maybe our protest at the Spurs game encouraged him to spend a bit? Maybe not. Sure as shit got coverage though. It's now widely accepted that Ashley has been a negative for Newcastle United, to the point the man admits it himself.

To be fair, why should the burden be on the media to bring your plight to the fore when your supporter base has done very little to do it themselves?

The vast majority have sat on their hands and done nothing while you've plummeted down the divisions for fear of looking 'mag-esque'

We didn't invent protests and it's a massive bone of contention to what result our protests have had but at least they have put pressure on Ashley in the media. Without them we could have been footnotes too.

We don’t think we are the special case that you do. We don’t do mock funerals or think we deserve a trophy just because we turn up.

We protest in different ways

We don't think we're a special case beyond our own affections for the club at all, you did a mock funeral on the pitch for Leeds in 1973 and we don't think we deserve a trophy just for turning up.

Maybe if you weren't so pre-occupied with either what you think we think, what you think we're doing or the caricature you want to paint for us you might focus your attention on the currently plight of your club.

You protest in different ways, such as what?

That you are wanting to move the topic to Newcastle United rather than discussing the topic at hand serves as a microcosm of what defines a strong section of your supporterbase (particularly on here) in my mind. Stop focusing on Newcastle United, laughing and mocking on what we're doing and try to spend some time on your own club. This pride in not protesting and it 'not being the thing you do because we're not mags' is bizarre considering you're about to face your third season in the third tier.

Seriously, your club has never been lower but too often the discussion is around 'lol the mags are getting beat again'. Who gives a shit. man? We're two leagues above you.

Ashley won’t give a single toss about any of your protests.

Except maybe the shouting at his shop one, he got extra free publicity for that one.

You must give a shit because you spend your lifetime on here

You give enough of a shit to abuse one of our female supporters,.

And you abuse a woman who currently has absolutely nothing to do with Newcastle United. What's your point?

Let's not digress though because again, the gaze is being switched from the topic at hand to either an ad hominem attack on me or a general slight on Newcastle United. Get your own house in order ffs, rather than be all 'someone else can do it'.

I've counted at least five people on this thread that would move away from the topic at hand to discuss other things. Why?

Wow, that's a big bite right there, Mr Shit Tattoos.

There's nothing in the article that hasn't already been discussed at length before. It must be a slow news day and someone, somewhere must need his clicks.

I'd have thought that the fiasco at Wigan would make some think twice about how difficult we really have it, including journalists who should know better.

Right, but what about the rest of my post? I've not seen or heard of any fan action to show you're collectively unhappy with the way your club is managed. Why is that? Liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal, West Ham, have all protested their owners, but Sunderland who've had it worse than them haven't. Why?

That’s a mega bite 😀😀😀

Now kindly go back to The Mag or somewhere more suitable for ‘your lot’

Can you describe what you mean by ‘protest’?
