This is true....i think today wawas hardest to take of all of those six though cos we mullered them first half and i just couldnt see us losing.....unlike the other games

Hard to take? Nothing will ever beat Charlton for "hard to take".

Was disappointed on Sunday but nowhere near as bad as an FA Cup Final or league cup or play off final defeat.

Yeah fair point. I think i was still a bit raw when i posted . I just think we really chucked it away on Sunday being 1 up and bossing them, whereas i dont think that can be said about the previous 5 visits

we are drawing with the mags now then? If you include their semi and some other tournament... finals lost since they last won is 4 I think

Bullshit weve been beat off some proper shite there.

2019- Portsmouth
2014- Man City
1998- Charlton
1992- Liverpool
1990- Swindon
1985- Norwich

Actually I agree now that I have looked at it, four of our last six fixtures there were against winnable teams that we threw away.

Honestly the Wembley records of most non-elite clubs will look like ours.

Unless you are Man City, United, Chelsea, et all- who seriously goes to Wembley and wins almost every game there?

If you are not a top club, then a wembley appearance is on average a once in a generation feat save the unlikely event you are constantly in the playoffs.
They're not like

That’s it. I’m Zero from 7 at Wembley.

Has any club lost in the finals of the FA Cup, League Cup, Associate Members Cup and Championship Play off? Apart from us.
Add checkatrade and that will be a quiz question in a few years time! Just typical Sunderland.

The team crumbled under the weight of a 1-0 lead. You have to laugh as otherwise you'll cry.

can't help thinking if we had Watnore or Maguire to bring on We'd have held out.

a massive wasted opportunity to reward the fans who made the effort. Instead the familiar trudge back North while another teams fans get to enjoy a Wembley win.

if we do somehow get to the play off final I'd be amazed if we sell out again. gluttons for punishment!

Any other club matched or ‘bettered’ this feat?
It's 7.

Wel be back in may

So we are going to drop more points than Barno ?
Their 3 home games should we won but they've got Burton, Plymouth and B Rovers away.
IMHO, they will drop at least 4 (maybe 6) more points from now til end of the season and end up on maximum of 92 points.

We are on 73 and will need to get 19 from a possible 27 to go up automatically. Where do you think we will drop 8 points ?

IMHO this is what we will do
AS draw, Rochdale win, Burton win, Coventry draw, Donny win, Peterboro win Fleetwood draw, Pompey draw Southend win.

Job done.

I don't really believe in a Wembley curse. You could say the same about Portsmouth. No win against them in any competition since Jan 12, 2008. Which is I think now 7 games against them now ago. Since Kieran Richardson slotted two against them in front of 37,369 we lost the home game in the 08-09 season 2-1 and the away game 3-1. In the 09/10 season we lost an FA Cup Round 4 game 2-1 and both league fixtures drew 1-1. Then we come to this season. Losing the away game 3-1 and the EFL Trophy. But the record must end soon. It can't go on forever.

Leaving the stadium I felt much the same as you lot. I wanted to go back for the play-off final but fearful of facing PFC again. So with that in mind I want us to go up automatically but I am now in love with Wembley. It is a fantastic place and both times now I have had a brilliant time and been in awe and everything. Automatic promotion is great but I honestly don't know how many more times we will get to go again. It may be years and years.

I'm 0 and 3; no goals (and obviously no wins)

I think once/if its no longer in our hands, the players will mentally settle for the play-offs and save themselves accordingly?
