5G signal

too late to edit but this was on 4g.

iirc, someone on here who appeared to know his onions or had somethng to do with the installation reckoned o2 was the only one who had a mast or something or other in the ground. i'm a bit of a technophobe and i might be misremembering mind.
like the other poster said above, vodafone was unusable anywhere in or around the ground.

The ground has a full 5G open link infrastructure as part of a Government loadout to test this in large, densly packed venues. In switching it on they have only gradually increased the load of adding operators one at a time to test the infrastructure. That's why some operators work and some don't. It's normal to load test new networks gradually, especially on groundbreaking projects like this. Should be fully operational soon.

Meanwhile the Mags are singing and dancing about the PIF investment to start to add lights and 5G sometime next season for a stupendous upgrade on matchday experience. Obviously they will all think they are the only ones with it and PIF are marvellous to them.

It will be because he is on O2. There was a lad on here who knew the crack and basically 02 were the only ones paying for it at the moment. I’ve just got changed provider and gone from my phone being a total brick at any point I was there and now that I am on 02 I can watch video clips and stuff even at half time.
 
5g is a weird one for me. When you connect it’s as strong as could be but the connecting part is sketchy. Seems to drift in and out. Also, nothing improves the matchday experience like playing well.

Yep. Signal is also very poor inside the house along Roker. They say they will boost power soon. They have said that for months now without any improvement.
 
Vodafone has been shite for a couple of years. The only reason I’ve not changed is because all the other networks where I live are shit anarl.
Also I get great coverage where my static caravan is in Scotland the knars

In which case why didn’t they retain the old WiFi solution until the new infrastructure is at fully capacity. My phone is unusable in the ground this season (Vodafone).

I'm just guessing here, but its's probably because they can't properly load test and ensure it works if large numbers of phones default to the wifi rather than the 5G network when releasing it. Remember this is part of a national project to help develop and test new 5G technology for use in densly populated places.
