Anderson is now 16th on the list of all time test wicket takers.

Also homing in on an 'England All Time' record is Alistair Cook, who is third in the list of English test run scorers behind Graham Gooch and Alec Stewart. He already holds the record of most centuries by any English player, with 25.

Didn't see anything of them to comment. It's fair to say he had a dodgy start to his career due to being too young/media spotlight but he has been outstanding in the latter half of his career.

Only an on-song Steve Harmison looked more dangerous as an English bowler. Or an on-song Stuart Broad perhaps.
 
I personally haven't seen many better than Anderson in my lifetime but I am still relatively young (26), Gough and Harmison probably more dangerous on song, I do think Broad is a class below the aforementioned though.

Them with Underpants on spin (that's how young and puerile I was) would get my vote as the best bowlers I remember prior to the current era.
Though I always thought Underwood ran up like a poof.

I remember the lad mainly as being injury prone. Might well be a fluffy desert though as my memory is shyte.
 
Jordan is a joke of a selection. Anderson and Broad carried him at Southampton.

As I keep saying, our third and fourth seamers are consistently picked for their batting not bowling.

Chris Old would have been dangerous in these conditions, excellent at late swing, kept getting injured though. Geoff Arnold as well
