these umpires really are crap. Big noise and a deflection. How could he miss that?

DRS working exactly how it should there though. An immediate review by the fielding side and a shocking decision overturned with technology.

Yep, Tony Hill has been worse than useless in this series. Go back a year and all technology did was demonstrate the very high standards of international umpiring. Way to go, Tony.


Another disappointing opening partnership. See off the new ball and then fuck it up. I still think we should save Root down the order.

The main thing is that they have seen off the new ball for the stroke makers, we still have an opener in and there's a long way to go. Sounds like the pitch is pretty good so there should be scoring opportunities later. Would prefer a slightly more aggressive approach, though not a reckless one. Just pushing the singles and working the field, looking for runs and not letting the bowlers and captain settle.
