How on earth can Atherton blame an umpire for giving a player out LBW who was proven to be out LBW albeit maginally?

He didn't blame the umpire, he said haddin can feel a bit aggrieved, which bearing in mind the margins he can. Don't think many umpires would have given it to be honest.

Me. They looked safe as houses at 4 o'clock. Fess up, you thought we'd blown it and all.

;)

I always felt it would come down to Clarke. They have forgotten how to win and and to me this chase was all about whether Clarke could see his team home.

Because it was just a guess, knowing that DRS would cover him either way. Watson is right, DRS has taken the benefit of the doubt from the batsman.

Most LBW decision's are educated guesses. it's a tough one, as technically he was out. However, It would have hit the stumps.

Most LBW's are best guesses. The ball hit him in line was going on to hit the stumps - if he had given not out he would have been rightly criticised. You can't slag a bloke off for making a correct decision FFS.

1 more tonight would do. Not sure i'd take the extra 30min, give Broad a chance to have another blast in the morning.

How exactly was it a guess, if he thinks its out his finger should go up.

I don't think umpires should be giving batsmen out when the decision is a marginal as that, it just smacks of guessing/arse covering.

"If I'm wrong, it'll be overturned anyway so no harm done. Oh, it clipped the stumps by a milimetre, decision stands, unlucky batsman."

The umpiring this series has been crap in general.

yep. Far too many times they've give out the marginal calls while missing absolute stone dead ones.

Did not expect such a turn around tonight thought we may have had them 5 down. So this is f***ing great.

Haway england keep it pitched up and lets rattle these rabbits out tonight
