3rd Ashes Test - Headingley

The Aussies will have thought the Root wicket was the one that's won it for them and probably thought they were in the driving seat after Denly's. We may as well have just let them bowl at the stumps for the first two wickets so those two were effectively our openers. If the next one comes soon after lunch though, that could be the one that cracks us.

Excellent session. Obviously the Aussies will still be thinking they are just one wicket away from exposing us massively. First hour after lunch could make or break it.

If you're not into cricket then you don't really have a valid opinion on it tbf.

The session we just witnessed is the pinnacle of the game IMO.
It's the way the momentum shifts and how much of it is a mental thing. England couldn't get it off the square at first but Bairstow's positive approach got Stokes going and, in turn, knocked the Aussie's disciplined bowling. Was is McGrath who said cricket was 90% mental strength? Anyway, still too close to call- Lyon looks dangerous with more bounce and turn with the new ball so far.
