3rd Ashes Test - Headingley

Australia's game plan here will be to get to 250-300 to stay in the game, try to restrict England to a less than 100 lead, and then have the better batting conditions for days 3/4 when its sunny with England batting last chasing a challenging total.

Same as the 1st test basically. England's batters have to perform far better.
The thing is with our current batting averages you don't need 250-300 to stay in the game against us, that would give you a score.

Another reason why bowling first was stupid. Even if we got them all out for 150 which would be a really big feat I'd be surprised if we managed to get much over a hundred lead against that on current form, and even then we're batting last making even 100 lead alot less robust than it sounds.

Its actually not all that bad news for England.

Tomorrow is expected to be another gloomy/overcast day with days 3 & 4 being the warm sunny days and so the longer this gets delayed the more likely England will be having their first innings on day 3 in the better conditions. The Aussie bowlers were probably hoping to get England in simiilar conditions so they now might avoid that.

So constant rain delays all day with only 18 overs bowled, and yet 20 or so minutes after coming back on they’re off again for tea?

Unless there was weather/light issues??
