Promised our lass (no) a day out tomorrow. Will record, stay offline and watch as if live when we get back. Will be a late night.
Why don’t you just dump your lass, I’ve had s cracking day today and same again tomorrow
For anyone going
Lager is shit
Ya burn up instantly
Atmosphere is class !
Aussie fans are boring as usual.
The skyrack is a decent little bar
It was an excellent ball, you’re being harsh
I’ve been his biggest critic but he couldn’t do nothing about that at the speed no where to put your hands, ducking was made hard. As you can see when a bouncer is right look at what happened to smith.

If they crawl 100 runs or so tomorrow and another 100 or so on Monday we won’t care. Patience is key and his aim today is to stay in whatever it takes. New day tomorrow.

Tonight was fine but there's a balance to be had. The old 'ball with your name on it' will arrive at some point, plus they need to score off the old before they get the new ball at 80 overs.

Totally take your point marra. I thought that with 30 overs of the old ball to go but I think they just wanted to give themselves a chance. They have certainly done that and it is a pleasant surprise. Be interesting to see what old Bob says tonight

Root has done a good job today, but he's got it all to do again tomorrow. Stokes will need to play an important part as Bairstow & Buttler are too flaky for me. They've given themselves a sniff they didn't have at 2 down early on.

If they pull it off, it will be an incredible achievement, but the Aussies are still in the box seat.

I'm at Hampshire v Essex T20 tomorrow afternoon so won't see much of the game.

So are we still the shittest ever and need to drop everyone? Or does it depend on what happens tomorrow?

The Aussies will be thinking knock one over and the rest will tumble, especially with the new ball due. I doubt they are concerned as it stands.
Tonight's knock of 2 from 50 balls says he has the sensible head on. Hope it is still on in the morning.

New ball is going to be a completely different problem mind, but fingers crossed.

That ball will come much quicker if you try to take a run that isn't there. They have 7 wickets between them to get the runs. It’s the thinking that they all have to make big totals themselves that leads to us being all out for 67.

I fully expect a collapse tomorrow, and if Root goes before lunch you can call it off. But, a great day. Nobody will remember it should we lose though, all the talk will be of the first innings.

It'd have been nice to lose that last wicket tomorrow, but fair play lads.
Can Stokes play a new ball?

If we pull off tomorrow it only vindicates what everyone said about the batting order day one though. Very few people said they were outright shit but most people said they were stupid, impatient, embarrassing and completely lacking in application and fight. And they absolutely were, and are, having been out for less than 150 six times now in as many months.

One miraculous performance tomorrow won’t make any of that go away. If following that performance they go on to apply themselves to the degree they have today consistently? Happy days. But form suggests they won’t. On form yes they are poor with the bat at Test Cricket. That’s not a knee jerk reaction it’s one based on very straight forward evidence backed up by stats and results in afraid.

He is technically good enough.
