Remember it clearly - got told as I was getting on the school bus - made no sense - why would anyone want to shoot John Lennon? That night there was an impromptu tv programme with people talking about John led by Annie Nightingale - that would be a normal thing now but then it was a completely new concept. People just couldn't get their heads around his shooting.
