What advantage does it have over a nifty fifty for full body?

Wouldn't you want some level of zoom for a gig and not use a prime?

an EF 30mm vs a 50mm both on a FF?

Personally, I'd rather have the ultra wide aperture that tends to come with primes for gig photography than a bit zoom. Depending on whether or not you're with the band and right at the front of course.
