30,000+ season tickets sold

Tweet seemingly deleted.

I'll be surprised if theres 8k not renewed come the deadline like.

Will definitely be some of the johnny come lately realising they aren't really arsed though.

Aye. Be loads of the Snapchatters who had FOMO and have moved on to something else.

I think it's odd that 20% of season ticket holders haven't renewed despite the season we've had.

Fair enough, the time it's taken you to post this message you could have renewed though 😂.

There'll be a miriad of reasons.

- cost
- novelty worn off

And big one - kick off times.

Since Bournemouth at home 29th November, we've had 2 Saturday home games - palace and Brighton - 3 of the remaining 4 are definitely not on Saturday and man United is still to be confirmed.

So best case scenario is 3 Saturday home games between end of November and end of season.

Aye, for proper die hard fans it shouldn't make a difference, but to normal people it does.

Was it ever actually as high as 38k? I thought we’d capped it before it reached that. It is very high tbf, even the clubs with capacities a lot bigger than ours tend to still cap there’s in the 30ks range. Obviously part of the reason they do this is so they can fill the rest with day trippers like.

Our match tickets will be minimum of £40 and adult next season and some in the £50s. We couldn't afford to have thousands and thousands of them available imo.

People wanting an extension were massively getting carried away.

I genuinely cannot believe that any Sunderland fan would not renew their season ticket following how brilliantly we have done this season, unless it is not financially viable for them to of course.

As for a lot of Saturday games, have people not looked at the Premier League fixtures over the last five years to notice the amount of games that aren't played at 3 pm on a Saturday, surely they cannot be surprised by this

Don’t think it’s odd

People are skint
I'd imagine some are.. and have been waiting for pay day.

Others will prioritise a couple of coffees (or similar) every week over the course of 52 weeks that will amass to the same price of a season ticket. It's not the first and not the last time people have had to cut cloth accordingly to go to games - think the sentiment is that we've never had a season like this for over 20 years so you would have expected those who had one last year to have one again this year.

Yep, I’ve been saying this all along on any of the threads crying out for us to extend. Ridiculously early in our (hopefully continued) journey to better things than the last god knows how many years, to be wanting us to extend just yet imo.

Was capped at 38k general season tickets, 3k corporate season tickets, and around 3k go on general sale with 3k away allocation.
