2nd Test team selection suggestions

Team confirmed:

Crawley, Duckett, Poop, Root, Brook, Stokes(c), Smith(w), Carse, Potts, Leach. Bashir
I take it that the named no3 is deliberate and not a typo.
Pope's dismissal I did think was irresponsible but,in his defence, he could hardly have been mentally prepared for batting given that he only chose to do so moment's beforehand when he discovered Duckett was unfit.

Good to see Potts playing.

I'm guessing Woakes and Atkinson are just part of a rotation process rather than being dropped.

Looks like we should have played an extra spinner. The pitch has a lot of turn and bounce and that's just the first hour of the match. Rehan Ahmed must wonder what he has to do to get back into the side.

Only seen bits but think it will break up later.

On Rehan his control is a bit all over the place, either that needs tightening up or he needs to prove he’s good enough with the bat for ~6/7 (know it doesn’t fit now with Stokes and Smith but you get the point, could he have batted 7 last week?)

Looks like Pakistan were justified in dropping Babar Azam.

Honours even after day 1 I'd say.
Fantastic article in the Times about the choice of sides. Summary is that the pitch will spin and reverse, Pakistan by picking one seamer have taken away the reverse tactic

And Stokes got it spot on with his use of the seamers, bowling spin until it reverses
