2nd Test team selection suggestions

With Ben Stokes apparently fit enough to play in the 2nd Test.starting on Tuesday 15th what is feeling about who gets left out 🤔
I think it’s Bashir which means Root to back up Leach . Strengthens the batting with Stokes at 6,Smith 7. Carse 8, Woakes 9 , Atkinson 10. Leach 11 . Also does the bowlers get rotated and Potts comes in for Woakes or Atkinson

I wonder if they’re too stubborn to drop Bashir? They’ve been clear he is first choice and notably bowled him first in both innings. It would be the right move of course

Think Potts may play, not sure ahead of whom tho

(And on your lineup Carse will be below Woakes, and potentially Atkinson as he was this week)

Stokes for Woakes for me. I get that it seems a good idea right now to leave a spinner out, but it always does, until about 10 mins in and its flat again.

Who knows though, maybe Pakistan leave it green in an attempt to help their bowlers

I can't see them producing a turning pitch given that Pakistans front line spinner is in hospital, so I would go Stokes for Bashir since Leach did enough in the last test to keep his place.
If they want Stokes to replace another batsman as he's unlikely to bowl, on form that will have to be Pope.

Pope is C/VC, you can't drop him

I think Carse will be the one to miss out when Stokes returns.

The pitch is similar to the first test so they will stick with Leach and Bashir. I can't see them dropping Woakes despite his away record not being too great. Pope won't be dropped despite his failure with the bat in the first test. To me therefore it looks like Carse will carry the drinks.
