They finished second in a one horse race.

They were favourites from the start with most pundits licking their hoop.
f***ing hate the wankers.

I dont understand this.

Surely if we finished second it shows its not a one horse race? This whole arguement screams bitterness. If you win the championship next season then fair enough. Im happy just to be promoted.

I totally agree with regards to this season, all you have to do is get promoted, who gives a shit how it is done.

But some mags trying to pretend it makes up for last year, I would have taken this all day long for that feeling last year and how I felt all summer.

I'll be telling be grandkids about that one

Not like I'll have any mind, no fucker would marry me

Well done the mags. They've done what we pray we do this time next year. Move on all accept we're swapping divisions.

Is making a £30m profit in the transfer window buying your way back up? And how many horses will be in the race next season? Given the limited amount of money we'll be able to bring in I think our net outlay will be much the same. I'd certainly trust Benitez to deliver ahead of Moyes.
Based on what? Benitez record since Valencia shows every team he's managed has declined once he had to break up the squad he inherited and bring in his own players. Won a champs league with Houllier's squad but sent them into decline once he started to change it. Turned a squad that Mourhino took to a champs league into a joke.

Moyes has been piss poor at Sundeland but did make steady progress at Everton when changing the squad. Benitez hasn't even achieved progress anywhere...

The OP started posting in 2011 a few months after we beat you 5-1. Is his name secretly his undoing? Is this bloke genuinely a weird mag as people have been saying?

2009 finished 2nd with the highest number of points ever for a runner up, which you must've overlooked when doing your research.

Of course he is. He spends his time persistently trolling people, posting racist comments on the SMB and making the most illogical / embarrassing mag threads on here. Five oot.

I think he's doing irony.

Context is a funny thing. One mans 'he spent £50mil and couldn't even finish 1st' is another's 'he made a £30mil profit and is 1 of only 2 clubs out of the last 21 relegated to finish in the top 2 promotion spots'

Sunderland have spent £60 mil since the start of last season fwiw. Which club do you think got better value for money?

Charge your phone you pauper!

3 teams got relegated plus 3 lost out on promotion due to losing in the play offs. Surely it's at least a 6 horse race?
2 of the relegated teams didn't even make the playoffs. I know they spent a fortune but they paid for their place in the premier league and achieved it. If they'd spent all that then missed it, then we could be laughing out tits off. As it stands they have completed their aim

Brighton are a good club with lots of experience of doing well in that league. Hughton is a better Championship manager than Benitez. Not a 1 horse race really.
