24th November Stats

Some very positive case figures not just in the U.K. but France and Spain too. Let’s hope the tier situation is flexible but in terms of strengthening but weakening, the trajectory is significantly downward, presumably at a greater rate in some areas than others. The tiers are decided on Thursday but the picture could change dramatically in 5-6 days.

Sunderland 7 day rolling average:
210 cases per 100,000 using backdated data.
276 cases per 100,000 using daily data.

+/- compared to one week ago.

National stats look like infections going down, with the normal lag of people who caught it 2 weeks back getting seriously ill / dead now

Is there any data showing age breakdown for regions? That's what they're going to use to decide what tier you go into apparently.

Considering the 2/3 week delay between cases to deaths occurring theres gonna be some high death numbers the next week or two !

Case numbers are very encouraging... Deaths as expected as always higher on a Tuesday..

Tomorrow's figures will be the tell tale I reckon
Somebody who follows this closely is suggesting on Twitter that test processed is right down which might be the reason behind the sudden drop in cases.
Highest daily death toll since May?
Deaths will always keep climbing for about 2-3 weeks after cases start declining.

cases have been steady around 22k for last 4 /5 weeks or so haven’t they

Was last week with a few days spiking around 30k per day wasnt it ?!?

great to see cases falling but it’ll probably be 2/3 weeks before deaths drop ! Hopefully its not the case like

Tyne and Wear all below 350 cases per 100,000.

All but Newcastle and South Tyneside now just below 300 (Sunderland, North Tyneside, Gateshead). Absolutely no reason for us to be in tier 3.
