Surrey have the highest total attendance in 2023, an average of 7,500 every match and 1,900 every day.
Northants have the lowest total attendance in 2023, an average of 900 every match and 200 every day.
Durham averaged 2,500 every match and 600 every day

I take it you’ve seen Michael Vaughan’s divisive tweet. He’s a total First Class traitor. He knows exactly what he’s doing too, he isn’t that stupid or lazy.

For county attendances, especially in the Championship, the numbers should have streaming and audio commentary listeners/viewer figures added to them to give a more accurate picture of the interest.

But attendance and Interest are 2 entirely different things, people watching on youtube doesnt keep the clubs afloat

those numbers are very very worrying, i was shocked when someone mentioned we had nearly 3000 Members recently, that means that only a 5th of Members are turning up each day,

Do we know how many of those are kids on £25 Junior memberships,

Been to plenty of Days watching CC that even saying on average 600 are there is a surprise

It’s a slightly off on a tangent point I accept, but those average numbers must be nonsense. If championship games are no more than four days, and are sometimes less than four days because of the weather or an early finish, then the one thing that is quite simply impossible is that your daily average can be less than a quarter of your match average. Which they all seem to be.

Wonder what Michael's got to say about The Hundred attendances dropping dramatically despite the ECB putting it on prime time to the cost of first class cricket and giving out all those free and discount tickets.

As someone who would love to watch more live Championship cricket but is football mad, maybe they could schedule some games in the peak of the summer and outside the football season? At least they are now over a weekend which is a start I suppose.

A few years back they were scheduling games midweek then wondering why only the pensioners turned up.
