2 year old girl dies after 'stolen' car found in river

It's surely impossible to snap a bank card by sitting on it, but I don't see the point in lying about it either?

I had a bank card that was touch and go for a bit as it was already splitting a bit but you're right, they tend to be really very very bendy, annoyingly so when you try to break an old one up when you get your new one in the post

Dunno what car it was but in fairness if the handbrake was on a disc they can cool off and let the car run away down a slope if he'd left it running and not parked in gear. Twat if he did that mind.

sounded like the most plausible from the outset... car rolls down slipway... dad panics assumes car stolen. reports to police...

I thought the same when I read it. What i don’t understand is why he assumed it was stolen when it was parked on a sloping slipway? My first thought would be that it’s rolled away. Also in the write up on the bbc it describes the dad and the driver as though they are two different people so I couldn’t work out if the dad was the driver.

yep I noticed that. few things to be answered. I'm certain it will be all out very quickly. Tragic all round.

also if it was the dad who made th mistake then sometimes its easier as a coping mechanism to think it migth have been someone else

Really tragic, it’s an horrific thought of the poor little girl trapped in the car.

It would take some getting over anyway, it’s such an awful thing to happen but it will be even worse if he feels responsible.

It was her Mam driving, not her Dad.

Has he deleted that fb message now?

Yes its gone now.

Hers Dads post this morning, seems a really odd post considering .

Just to let every one who keeps asking how know.
It was the lemons stacked up too far!

They got in the car to go home.
Sat on bank card which snapped and needed money to get home etc.
Went back to the office to get money from the desk and came back to no car.
looked in the river No signs. So we thought she and the car had been taken.
The police found the car a while later and went way beyond the call of duty jumping in and pulling her out.
They tried to revive her for hours but unfortunately could not.
Everyone done their best.

Thank you all so much for the support it means the world!!!

She was an incredible happy young girl who lived I hope a great adventurous fun life. And may have done more than most people
Been skiing twice and skied her self!
Paddled the great glen Scotland
Paddles the wye
Played on every beach we could.
Had a Loving family and made us all happy

She always wanted to be called RAR RAR which was our Knick Name for her
Love her so much

WTF?!!

No fucker would get me to do nowt even eat if my bairn had died, let alone post that weird shit of bellendbook.

What does the lemons stacked too far mean? Suss

Who has ever snapped a bank card bit sitting on it? Suss

Went back to office for cash and left toddler in car? Suss

"we thought she and the car were taken"???????? WTF? If that scenario were true, there would be no if or buts. SHE was taken. Ambiguity suggests he's leaving open the suggestion that she might not have been taken. Suss.

Over compensating to show how class parents they are. Suss

appears to be an accident that they are trying to cover up in some way.

certainly doesnt stack up

Just own up man. I don't know how they can carry on with their lives if this is true.

can undertand the first bit.. if he was parked on the sipway and the casr rolled back then just say that. unless it rolled back and down the river out of view and he reallyu thought the car had been stolen.

police will get proper timelines and it will come out in the wash whatever happened
Poor kid, if id left my kid in a car and for whatever reason she died as a result i would be on suicide watch not posting smileys on facebook.

Epps I agree. What you say seems like it could be a very plausible scenario. The dad even suggests this by saying "the car may have been stolen". But then Double maxim is spot on. If your scenario is true, then I cant see him on face book but on suicide watch.

It makes no sense. Poor f***ing bairn.

So were both parents there? If so then why would they both need to go back to the office for cash?
