2 points off 6th

That late Liverpool goal has made it more possible that we finish 5th as we would rest players against them should we reach the Europa final a few days after. If we then won the final, 6th would get CL.

Going to be the most painful game this season that.

Could be a huge turning point for missing europe

Just the fact we are talking about potentially qualifying for Europe in our first season back in the Premier League, in April, is success for me.
It is but its fine margins like today which make it frustrating. We have rarely been in this sort of position in the Prem and you never know when it will happen again . Win today from behind like that and we go into last 5 with proper momentum.

It was gutting, no doubt, but I still think the fact we are even talking about Europe as a possibility exceeds all expectations we had at the start of the season

It’s true, this was in the end incredibly tight. But for over hit balls we’d probably be in a Euro spot today.

If we'd won, Villa would have also dropped to 5th. If they finish 5th and won the Europa League, then 6th would be a Champions League spot.

The fact that we're in touching distance of that this season is absolutely remarkable. If we finish outside of the top 10, we've still had a superb season. European qualification would be fantasy land. A champions league spot would be a story worthy of Hollywood.
