The season we’re having this time round was where I thought/hoped we’d be in 2 or 3 years time tbh, this season feels like it’s came ahead of schedule.

No I wasn’t there but yes it was clear from. Watching the game that both players you mention are indeed both big units. But our 2 , I maintain, are a match for most strikers, IMOWere you there yesterday mate? If you were, you would have seen how much bigger some of the Villa player's were to ours.
He was. He was so hard to shrug off the ball. He was brilliant. Good crack aswel with our fans first half when we had a throw in. Had us laughing. He was superb yesterday, he's always taking games by the scruff of the neck and leading the way. He's their Xhaka
McGinn is integral to their shape and all round game. Replacing him will be key for them soon. When he was injured earlier this season they were hopeless. No coincidence.Villa still have an issue with squad depth as well mate. As soon as McGinn gone off they had zero control in midfield.
....promotion came ahead of schedule mateThe season we’re having this time round was where I thought/hoped we’d be in 2 or 3 years time tbh, this season feels like it’s came ahead of schedule.
Aye, he was. I was baffled Emery took him and Watkins off, but he must have thought the game was done.He was superb yesterday, he's always taking games by the scruff of the neck and leading the way. He's their Xhaka
There’s such an imbalance in the league financially that a good solid run such as Villa is having is hard to keep up. Each season there’s a team that makes a solid run for the top 4/5 and then they fade in the ensuing seasons.
I’m no conspiracy theorist but it seems the league and Sky want certain clubs at the top.
There are always if’s and but’s in Football if we continue to get recruiting spot on this club could build something special...could we be exactly in the position Villa are as a club and have the squad depth they have? I think that was the biggest factor yesterday, their depth and their options off the bench. We went toe to toe with them and nearly came out on top...just that extra bit of quality in the attacking third needed for the first 11 and depth in the squad. We have come a very long way in a very short space of time. Immensely proud of the club and the players what they have achieved so far this season...it could get even better in these last 5 gamesonwards and upwards!

Konate from Liverpool for the game at the SOL as well I thought, despite the flack Konate gets from Liverpool quarters, would be the only other player that springs to my mind. He was very good that night against Brobbey.I think people mean throughout the whole 11 more or less. Their massive CBs are the only ones I've seen pretty much neutralise Brobbey
Without taking a swing at the mags I think they’re a great example of what it takes to and how hard it is to sustain. Prior to this season they looked pretty solid the in one window lost a striker that scored for fun and bought the three you mentioned and are in the shit. In the snap of a finger. I still think the dodgy move Villa made by selling their ground to themselves will come back to haunt them. That can only be done once and the next time they want to get out of trouble the cupboard may well be bare. The same for the mags too. The only way to do it is to get your recruitment absolutely spot on. Villa have done that better than the mags, but even they’ve made some errors like Sancho & Elliot.
Unless you have the revenues of City, Man U etc, you can’t afford to buy more than a couple of duds. Newcastle have wasted an absolute fortune on Wissa, Elanga & Woltemade. They also don’t sell very well. If they want to get some money in to go and build a better squad then they need to be cashing in on the likes of Tonali & Gordon now.
The only way you’d get close to generating the revenue the top clubs do is buy getting it right off the pitch over the course of 5+ years and regularly qualifying for the champions league.

Not sure we can be unless we change our approach, look at how much wages they pay out, they've been on the borders of ffp....could we be exactly in the position Villa are as a club and have the squad depth they have? Onana really impressed meOnce thing that stood out to me was how big that Villa team were. They were good footballers, but also massive and quick.
