I think I must be the only one who isn't impressed with Jordan, he has talent and he might prove me wrong today but as a red ball 1st change bowler I am yet to be convinced, not enough control and bowls too short. Anyone else agree?

Piece of piss to bowl short and rough the batters up, not going to get you many wickets though. If he's just going to be some kind of enforcer then we might as well recall Saj, at least he can bat.....

Jordan has only really been a success at County level for a season and a half, he's got a lot of step ups to make.

It really isn't a piece of piss like, not at that pace, I like Plunketts role in the side, very difficult on this pitch. Think he will take wickets for England though. I think he will be especially got against the lower middle order and tail. Wasn't to be in this test but should be given a run in the team 100%. The only way I wouldn't pick him is if they trusted Monty again.

It is all about small steps, the oz tour was ridiculously damaging. I said before this series, the main task is to get back to posting big 1st innings scores, get batsmen confident and inform. Then slowly but surely we will win games again. Absolutely no problem with a draw here or Cook not declaring, we aren't the team we were before, the most important thing was to score runs.

I agree to be honest, winning this series 1-0 will be a confidence boost going into the India series considering the team has 3 debutants in..

Ali done ok first innings, Ballance superb 100...

Just need Robson to score a few at Leeds.
 
Mahela looks finished tbh. Scratching around like he's on debut, will be surprised if he doesn't retire inside the next few months.
