You always bat first at Lords. Can understand them not wanting to face Anderson, Broad, Plunkett and Jordan on the first morning though.

Agreed. Warne got it spot on earlier, get to 400 and go from there.
 
Still in shock that I am seeing Liam Plunkett back in an England team after he was deemed not good enough for Durham.

Overall, I like the look of the side although I don't think Balance is a number 3 and the obvious lack of front-line spinner.

I may be completely wrong but does Ballance not average above 50 batting at 3 in FC and LA games?

That's my thoughts, it's a big ask of someone who will only have faced a new ball infrequently. I don't mind it so much in ODI's as he can go through the gears so if he gets in he has the ability to push the score along and make a big score.
