19/11/16 - 5pm - Protest at the Murray Gates

Some shit comments on here.

So short is absolutely destroying our club and we should just do absolutely nothing in case we look like mags?

The truth is that some still believe the bollocks rolled out by the media machine (responsible for making you believe that our shirts are about our fantastic history so spend 50 quid) that short has sunken 300 million into us because he cares.

He's thrown money into the club because of his own mistakes and piss poor management of the club, paid out millions in paying up contracts of successive failures of managers and CEOs and allowed our assesses to either be sold under value, loaned to reduce the wages or given away whilst other massive wage earners are stuck at the club rotting away with no value.

The same ones who won't protest are the ones waiting for Vaughn to come good, Kone to regain his form or like the idea of two absolute wank keepers playing against each other as competition.

Short needs to go. He needs to know that he isn't welcome and that he should be drummed out of sunderland taking that Scottish hatchet man with him.

The obsession with mags on this board is pityful.

According to this board we should be happy with our owner when in reality the circus owner should be crucified prom the penshaw monument. Now that would be history making and in 20 years time we could sell t shirts at 100 - it's part of our history.
You could also say he knows nowt about football so shouldn't have got involved. Easy this blame game. The facts are he's gambled and lost. The bottom line is how far do we fall ...

Humble pie!!!!

For what's it's worth you need to realise that this message board doesn't and never has reflected the mood of most safc fans so trying to organise something on here is a waste of time.

You'd be better starting a protest yourself after the next game and people would join in
Absolutely correct. Not sure if any stats have ever been produced however I would be surprised if more than 25% of posters on here attend games on a regular basis.
If anyone wants to organise a protest get it sorted at the next home game and if you get a dozen or so together I'm sure others will join in. I have no idea who would listen to the protest as no idea where Short is these days.

In all seriousness though, when do protests ever solve anything? It'll get highlighted on the local news then forgot about.

If people stop going to the home games however, that will send a message.

To really show a protest as such there needs to be be a protest within match time, a protest at the Murray gates is probably a bad idea as there's never anybody left at full time to protest, what needs to be done is a set time during the match in the first half for a mass exodus, I know the first goal by the opposition usually activates this but say on the 30 minute mark whether winning or losing everyone to walk out in unison, that would be a statement imo

When has stopped going to the match ever solved anything. Do you honestly think loads of buyers would be interested if our crowds dropped to circa 20000 it would be just another nail in the coffin.
However if we could sell out one week and everyone turned up for a mass protest it would show the fans are there.
Do you want us to become the next Coventry city

Most have already paid, in which case Short and the club couldnt give a shit if they turned up or not. They have the money regardless.

So much apathy on this thread. People claim to love the club, best fans in the world etc you get relegated 10k instantly fuck off and the others sit and do nothing.

Aye let's get the bedsheets oot ...

Will you f***ing simpletons pipe down with the whole "you won't protest just because you don't want to look like the mags".

It's getting f***ing insufferably boring hearing that now. Especially considering that the huge majority who are giving their opinion against protesting are saying it's because it is useless and not worthwhile.

Honestly man change the record about it always being about the mags. It isn't.
Even they know it isn't marra

It's just a handy way to needle people who don't agree that making a spectacle of yourself will force Shorty to pack it in

When you gamble and lose eventually you walk away. You don't stand there demanding your money back and waiting until you strike lucky.

As we've seen with Ashley up the road even Billionaires can't afford to lose 100 million. I don't blame him for wanting most of his money back. I blame him for running the club very badly.

This, out of 30k at the game yesterday, a few hundred will maybe bother with RTG, some fuckers on here think they're on the board of directors at SAFC.

Agreed.
But Ashley hasn't lost as much or made as many mistakes as short.

As a side note, why do fat middle aged men wear football tops?

I've never worn a football top to a match, ever, not even as a kid. But I've got no problem with anyone that does - it's a way of showing support, and that's fine. A stand that looks all red and white instead of like there's a sale on at Burberry* is does kind of add to the occasion, I think.

I'm still not wearing one, but each to their own.

*There's not a sale on at Burberry, as far as know.

I'd agree he's run them well but even he is struggling and Short has us in an even bigger hole. Never mind we had 6 in a row and a cup final. It wasn't all bad for us.

To make slim middle aged men feel good about themselves ...

I think they could give a shit if people stop turning up mind. Yes they've already got our money (in many cases) but if people stopped going now despite having paid then they'd be very worried because, unless they can win them back round this season, the chances of them renewing and paying their money again next year would be very slim. Obviously if it's one or two people they wouldn't be arsed but if thousands of current season ticket holders did it they'd be concerned despite already having this season's money
