people are scared to protest in case it means we actually get something right and then they can't whinge. I'm convinced numerous Sunderland fans love following Sunderland so they can claim to be so hard done by but loyaler (is that a word?) than every other person on the Planet. If we get things right, that claim goes out the window.

But you're surely not serious?

Defeat agaisnt hull and there will be a large proportion of fans , vocally showing their discontent. It's already started at home, see plenty of fights and arguments amongst our own.

Plenty of fights?

To be honest I couldn't be chewed on with protesting but I think all the shit being flung at the OP is a bit out of order mind. He's naturally pissed off af how things are going and is having a vent which let's face it some of those having a go have done themselves on here in past.
It won't be long before it turns nasty at the SOL regardless the way things are going, I've a feeling the OP may have a few more ready to join his crusade in the not too distant future.
Agree. The lad is passionate and wants to do something. I respect that.

I just think not turning up at all in sends a bigger message, to be honest. Then, of course, it means, for some, not attending a match you've paid for!

The last time this was mooted on here the club had the bloke against the wall, wanted to know names, numbers plans etc. Iirc his detail were passed over to the polis and he had his collar felt.
Def someone in here, in the end he said it wasn't worth it as the club were going to Pin any trouble on him as the protest organiser.

And what happened to him?

Which people in the media are you referring to ?
Caulkin, Glendenning & Luke Edwards (bizarrely) all had decent articles published after the Arsenal game with varying degrees of analysis on SAFC. All covered and criticised the flawed policies which have us reaching crisis again.

Even James Hunter of the Chronicle has published some damning stuff this week and the Sunderland Echo - who rely entirely on SAFC for their business - have taken a swipe at Short.

Now you can continue believing Ellis Short is a bumbling rich idiot who is relieved of his cash by mercenaries twice a year - or you can consider the structural, cultural and organisational deficiencies at the club he owns and is chairman of.

And you can reflect on how humiliating the Short years have been.

I am being serious. I genuinely think some folk thrive off being hard-done-by. Same people would whinge if we were successful and started filling the stadium with tourists.

"wish we were still shite so we only had proper fans" type attitude.

Just my opinion. :)

You mean agaisnt modern football fans? Thought you championed that marra ? ;)
