This forum isn't necessarily representative of opinion. Its just dominated by 3 of you who shout people down.

I doubt you actually meet another Sunderland from one day to the next judging by your complete misunderstanding of public feeling.
Yeah mate , I live in the outer hebrides.

Actually after the game on Saturday , the patter was all about Moyes and should he be sacked or not. The only reason to keep him was the same as on here "we can't keep sacking managers".

No one mentioned Short. Well , apart from the Portsmouth fan who was out with us who reckoned we wouldn't go the same way as Portsmouth as short would have to guarantee the debt .

It's really weird. And at odds with my lifetime following SAFC.

It seems to be born of 3 factors
1. Apathy.
2. Hopelessness
3. Not wanting to 'like the mags'

Villa fans had virtually hounded Lerner out by this stage.
Newcastle fans would have run Short out of town 2 years ago.
A large section of Manchester Utd fans set up a rival club in protest at the Glazers.

And so on and so forth
Yet we have a vociferous element who are literally abusing fellow fans, for simply suggesting a means by which to voice their concerns.

Not acting like Mags is a laudable ambition. And remind me, who owns Newcastle United? How did that protest go?

To be honest I couldn't be chewed on with protesting but I think all the shit being flung at the OP is a bit out of order mind. He's naturally pissed off af how things are going and is having a vent which let's face it some of those having a go have done themselves on here in past.
It won't be long before it turns nasty at the SOL regardless the way things are going, I've a feeling the OP may have a few more ready to join his crusade in the not too distant future.

Indeed, especially as he's so polite and respectful of other people's opinions.

As I've suggested to you previously - if you read a bit wider than kneejerking at the latest managerial fall guy at SAFC you'll notice a change in attitude in the last few days.

Some people in the media are to be applauded for bringing some of the issues to a wider audience

Time to tell Short that he needs to go. I think all of us are sad that it has come to this but it's becoming increasingly clear that he's mismanaged the club to the point where relegation isn't our biggest worry - financial solvency is.

We've been through it all before but he's repeatedly left managers feeling their hands are tied and has made awful decisions that leave us in a perilous position.

Protesting may not help - but it's about time he hears the frustration of the support. It could well result in him acting - he wants rid of the club and is holding out for a higher price. Action might result in him dropping that price enough to get the sale through so we can rebuild for next year.

Let's keep it outside the stadium - the last things the players need is a hostile atmosphere when they're presumably low on confidence as it is, but I for one do not want to sit on my hands until the end of the season, knowing all that we do now about the mismanagement of the club, having done nothing.

The fans are the one real thing that matter to me about this club, and I'm sick of us being misled and manipulated by an owner who clearly has no interest anymore in our success.
Fuck right off!

Still a bastard getting away from my seat in the west stand at the best of times because of people hanging around there waiting for players coming out. Protest on the pitch if you feel that strongly or better still at an away game.

Which people in the media are you referring to ?

Which 3?

Because of course only the mags protest. Sunderland fans never protest (red card Murray out protests, 'save our sunderland', protests outside the murray gates).

Only Newcastle fans protest. Should we protest about our owner sending us into financial ruin we'll shortly find ourselves wearing black and white tops, ramming pasties down our necks.

Newcastle's protests have been embarrassing because they have spelled bedsheets wrong, used bedsheets, had a funeral for a stadium, had a resurrection for a stadium etc. Not simply because they protested.

What is embarrassing is doing nothing because you're so scared that it will make you 'look like a mag'.

Were the Villa fans 'mag like' last season when they protested against their American owner sending them down? No. This is purely a fixation of the SMB.

people are scared to protest in case it means we actually get something right and then they can't whinge. I'm convinced numerous Sunderland fans love following Sunderland so they can claim to be so hard done by but loyaler (is that a word?) than every other person on the Planet. If we get things right, that claim goes out the window.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Sorry mate, I'll be doing something useful with my time - I'll be in the pub getting pissed.

Make sure you wrap up warm though, it'll probably get a bit cold, especially as you'll be standing there by yourself.
How's the sand?

Ellis Short has appointed a manager and it hasn't worked out, everything was looking ok 5 months ago no one wanted Ellis to leave then, i want him to sack David Moyes and at least try to save our season rather than accept relegation with Moyes,i'll not be protesting though.

Defeat agaisnt hull and there will be a large proportion of fans , vocally showing their discontent. It's already started at home, see plenty of fights and arguments amongst our own.
