19/11/16 - 5pm - Protest at the Murray Gates

At 5pm I'll either be heading over the bridge on my way to the pub or already in the pub if we've been battered forcing me to leave early again. No thanks.

Here lies the problem, the fans are so attached to Ellis Short they don't want to stand up against him, I know people on here are just a small minority of the Sunderland supporters but when they are against standing upto Short then that tells you everything, they are happy enough to carry on as we are. Short is looking to sell up so he doesn't want to put more money into the club which I can understand but it is him that has let this happen over the years you can't get away from that.

Would only protest if we had to endure Moyes style and results all season, only to lead to relegation and he still was manager in the championship. Would be enough to stop me going TBH.

You're still not grasping it are you? The manager we have is irrelevant as long as Ellis Short remains at the club. The reason we are in this position is because of the horrific decisions Ellis Short has made.

If England didn't come calling, we woukdnt be in this position IMO and the pressure would be off short. .

Its always magnified when actual football performance is at its worst.

He made an horrific decision to appoint Moyes (in hindsight), so yes, I agree.

What I don't agree with, is we will fail whoever the manager is as long as Short is here - that is just pure shite.

Allardyce wouldn't have been here whether England called or not, he'd had enough of Short.

Yeah, he's ruined it in the exact way his critics have wanted him to - by allowing vast amounts of money to be spent.

But a large amount of that money has been wasted because of him?

I can understand the case that he employed MoN (a good manager) and was let down. But appointing PDC? With De Fanti? Then Poyet? With Congerton? Then changing managers often? Employing Dick, then failing to live up to promises, causing him to quit (having signed players)? Failing to invest initially and then spending to plug the gaps? Alvarez? I'd suggest half the debt we've racked up was due to negligence at boardroom level and half due to shit spending by managers. But the idea that poor old Ellis has repeatedly been let down through no fault of his own is hilarious.
