16.00 June 7th statement by KLD.

I don't think using the word "hope" negates it mind. We'd can all say we hope, because we've got no part in the process. If kld hopes to get it done imminently, when he's completely aware of our current progress, it suggests (or should suggest) that he thinks we're nearly in a position to get it announced. If we were still doing interviews, as opposed to finalising the last few terms etc, then he'd have no realistic hope of it being imminent.

It's not like it's something he's said off the cuff. It's a written statement. When you know people are frustrated with the time it's taken and the seeming inability to attract our top however many targets, you'd read over it and think "maybe they'll focus on the use of imminent and assume it means we're actually near to announcing something". Using the term, even with "hope" before it, and then seeing it drag on for however long it does doesn't reflect well on him.

Might try that at work like. Boss needs a report to be submitted "so, I'm a bit concerned, I really need that report for the next board meeting". "Yeah I know, I hope to issue it imminently". Weeks pass. "Erm, what the fuck are you doing, where is the report, you said I'd have it imminently". "Haha, I actually said I hope you'll have it imminently, so it might be soon, might be a few days, might be a few months, I didn't actually commit to anything, haven't even started writing it yet". Don't think it would go down well tbh

They are clowns and they've been found out by all the coaches who worked for us, and the ones they've interviewed this time around by the sounds of it, their vision is wrong and somebody who has been around in football as long as Mowbray knew it and started to call it out. Even f***ing @Player_id has hinted the "model" is all wrong. Now the fans have well and truly found them out.

Roll on the player recruitment eh 👀
Christ it’s been a marathon just getting a manager, the wheeling and dealing of players is gonna be torture😂

Your 2nd paragraph doesn’t correspond to what you said in the first.

Did you mean to say that you DO think that using ‘hope’ negates the statement?

If the club are in control of the situation then they shouldn’t really hope for a positive outcome.

No, I'd expect that wording if the club knew who they wanted, had agreed terms, they'd said they want to join, but maybe the person didn't want to sign until they were back from their holiday or whatever, or needed their lawyer to read over it and just absolutely confirm it's good to go and in line with the agreement. So you hope it'll be imminent because there's nothing to worry about and no reason why it shouldn't be, but if it's with a lawyer or whatever it might take a bit longer than you hope. Basically I'd expect it means they're a certain as can be that they've got their man, the hope just relates to how long it'll be before the ink is dried. Maybe that is the case. I certainly wouldn't expect it if they were still interviewing or if a target was wanted by others

This lot make Donald and Methven look competent.

Donald and Methven make these lot look competent more likely. If they never touched the club, the current chancers would've been chased out months ago. There's two many people using them as a baseline though so it's 'all fine' because we were League One, look at the team 2/3/add for each year ago, they inherited a mess, Alex Neil left, it 'could be worse' or whatever bs they come out with.

Just remember the transfer window opens this week and the longer we go without a head coach, the happier the club will be as it means nobody will be demanding new signings.

Absolutely this
By the time the new manager settles in and assesses the squad to identify positions to strengthen the window will slam shut!

Another window successfully avoided by KLD & KS
