I also know a few people who've tested positive with lateral flows but work from home so haven't bothered reporting it or going for a PCR.

The cases will be a lot higher than the figures they're now reporting.

Hospitalisations, ventilation and death figures are the ones to keep an eye on now. As long as they steadily drop then we're beating this thing
 
Tremendous figures in terms of cases and those on ventilation. It does look like we are on the home straight and this nightmare will soon be over.
I love your optimistism mate, but do you really believe that it's soon to be all over?
This wave yes, but don't you see another variant coming along and we'll be back to square one?
 
Might just be me but I never noticed Omicron creeping up the country like they said it inevitably would. It seems to have happened so fast it was in London, then up here.
