11 Years ago today

This was the only home derby game I've missed in the last 15 years as I was just out of hospital and really not well. Remember lying in bed watching it and going absolutely nuts in the house and not being able to walk for about 4-5 days afterwards, but it was so worth it.

Just remember smiling and laughing my way through half time watching Thierry just fall in love with our crowd who wouldn't stop chanting all through half time.

I remember after getting home and watching the game back over Henry loving that goal and all the halftime celebrations that went on and on and on afterwards

Have the skunks scored a majestic goal like this in living memory against us? I can remember most of the goals since the classic down pour match where Shearer came on and lost the ball for our winner - and cannot remember anything of the quality of Phillips' lob that night, Defoe, Richardson's free kick - not even anything even close.

O'Brien's free kick at the Roker End is the best I can remember (not that I remember many as I try to blank them out of my memory). Vaughan, Borini, those you mention and a few others have been better though

Epic day like. Still can’t believe the authorities allowed a Sunday 4pm kick off 🔴⚪

Could only be done at our place because we can behave ourselves and dont line the streets with bags of cans to throw at passers by.

They'd never do 4pm at St James because despite having the best bars and pubs in the world none of the scruffy ***** want to use them on Derby Day so they'd be on the streets from 9am.

It came out of the blue, a lull in the game similar to Ballard vs Cov where everyone had settled anticipating HT. An incredible goal and a mad half time break where it was like one big party. Also similar to Stewart vs Sheff Wed in the playoffs for that.

Ryan Taylor and Emre free kicks are about the best I can remember. Not a patch on the absolute worldies we’ve put past them!
