Jermain Defoe top bins volley in a 1-0 victory for Sunderland over Newcastle, 5th April 2015. Our (at the time) 5th successive derby win.
The best derby day goal ever scored?
Brought him up properly well done that Dad!My sons first season and derby he was 5 I nearly chucked him out of the concourse![]()
I was one. Queues were mental and then it was carnage and loads legged it back up the ramp. After celebrating I then quickly realised my opportunity so nipped straight to the front of the bar no queue at all.Would have been loads on the concourse missed that
Wasn't my turn to queue fortunatelyI was one. Queues were mental and then it was carnage and loads legged it back up the ramp. After celebrating I then quickly realised my opportunity so nipped straight to the front of the bar no queue at all.
My mate got so pissed before the game he fell asleep in his seat. Was woke up, confused and disoriented as fuck, by everyone going f***ing mental around himWould have been loads on the concourse missed that

Imagine missing that goal just for the sake of getting a pint. JeezI was one. Queues were mental and then it was carnage and loads legged it back up the ramp. After celebrating I then quickly realised my opportunity so nipped straight to the front of the bar no queue at all.
Epic day like. Still canāt believe the authorities allowed a Sunday 4pm kick offTop day around the town that. Hot sunny day, bank holiday, derby win. Place was bouncing. Thatās the day a couple of Sunderland fans drove over the Wearmouth Bridge in a tank pre match.
Donāt need to imagine it. Didnāt take the shine off anything, went mental in the concourse with everyone else the same as people did in the stands, then stayed out all day and night after the match and had a tremendous night. I was at all of the 6 in a row so obviously including the away ones which only a handful of us were in the grand scheme of our support, so if missing one goal out of all those the worst that happens then Iāll take it all day - especially as we battered them and were worthy winners.Imagine missing that goal just for the sake of getting a pint. Jeez
