Just had lad on phone offering to guarantee first page Google exposure with 10 keywords for £139+vat for trial month.

Just wondering if that's a good deal?

Is it possible as well?

I am a SEO consultant and have been for the last 11 yrs. No one can guarantee rankings on google
they will probable display yr add along with countless other on 'their' page what may be ranking or even doing PPC.

Goggle rankings go to established businesses with lots of links to their sites, unless you are paying Google directly
 
lad I know used to be a partner in a business where they done summit like this, kept offering me a chance to join him as they were making a few quid at the time but it sounded dodgy as owt. I never joined and it went tits up a couple of year ago.

no one can guarantee first page in the organic listings.

however, i have a customer who paid £199 + VAT and has been on the first page for the last 6 months in a similar profession

not that many

you get what you pay for, some people can get away with it (depending on competition level) and some need to pay more. Have an escort agency with us who pays circa £2000 a year to be on there, have a company who supply and fit garage doors who pay £4000 +. it's different every time

(but i get what you're saying though) :-D

I used to work for a travel agent and we used to spend thousands a month on SEO and adwords.

A florist in a small business will spend next to nowt.

exactly mate.

someone offering holidays targeting people all over the country will need quite a comprehensive package.

someone fitting solar panels to wear and tyne, not so much

but isnt OP a UK installer/fitter/company?
 
I stopped doing SEO a while ago, it's one of those things you really have to do day in day out and know all the tricks.

So to the OP, find a specialist.

A lot of people get a website built and don't really think too much about promoting it, then 6 month to a year down the line wonder why it's doing working and blame their designer. The fact is that usually there's nowt wrong with the site itself, it just doesn't get any quality visitors.
