They really should win from here - the batsmen that have produced long innings for Warks are out and they dont have that much left really. Even if we dont make it for one reason or another its a good call by essex boy who called it after they scored 400+ first up.

look at their batting line up...Yousuf and not much else

It really wasnt that unexpected for those who are into their county cricket

Chopra went into the game with two double hundreds. Woakes average was over 100, Troughton's was over 40.

Chopra wasnt going to score 3 double hundreds in a row.

Troughton is a bog standard county player

Woakes is a decent number 8

Our attack is significantly better than anything they would have come up against thus far.

This is totally unexpected. There was no evidence that Warwickshire would play as badly/Durham would play as well as they have done today.

The nightwatchman is in so it should effectively be for 5 but I'm not calling anything yet lest I jinx the team.

We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Slag them off again. It worked yesterday.

Also, I think Woakes is the key wicket now.

I will change my opinion on something though, Durham wont win it by 50 points, it will be two way tussle with Notts

Harmison, Plunkett, Davies, Stoneman, Collingwood .....too many injuries

And if Di Venuto is out for any period of time with that side injury it really is getting difficult

Cant remember doing that like. Its was a poor day for Durham yesterday. I called it as such. Today was much better.

As for Essex Boy - Warwickshire had won their opening two games, Somerset had bowlers such as Trego, Willoughby, Suppiah and Kirby when they bowled against Warwickshire. Might not be world class but decent enough standard to be runners up in everything last season.

Not saying that Warwickshire are brilliant but certainly no evidence to support a position that they came into this game in crap form, with crap players.

Anyway you called it right. A canny call TBH.

Whats the news on his injury? Has it been confirmed what it is?

I'm not sure on SSN they were saying it was a quad muscle injury but how serious i dont know.

Certainly those two are decent bowlers at this level.

Durham's best day of the season so far, let's hope we can polish them off tomorrow

The way I see it, we have probably about 50 overs to get the 6 wickets. They wont be looking to score quickly so, starting with a lead of only 16, they should not be out of sight by then. Cannot see them scoring at more than about 3.5 an over given they will be defensively minded, which would give them a lead of around 190, which could still be chased down in the remaining 40 odd overs.

The pressure to get the wickets earlier will only come if they start scoring quickly.

Superb figures for Borthwick, must be a massive confidence boost for a young leg-spinner to get someone of the calibre of Mohammed Yousuf for a duck. I wonder if the pitch is starting to break up a bit now.
