The cricket season is upon us! :-D

Please state what games you're available for, everyone will be guaranteed 1 game unless we get more than 22 names!

Games are:

Engineers @ Felling on the 3rd
DASL @ Houghton on the 5th

Both in the 20-over league where everyone bowls 2 overs.

I'll be selecting the teams, and am available for both.

Andy,

What was the selection policy for the SMB games. I know we talked about it at the end of last season but I can't exactly remember what was said.

Was it that the lads who didn't get a game for any of the Houghton teams on a weekend would be getting first priority?

I believe you're right, and I will be trying to adhere to this if/when I am in charge of picking the team. But at the same time, playing for Houghton doesn't mean you can't pop your name down for SMB games. The only barrier I see, would be:

Do you go on the Sunday before or Sunday after when taking the Houghton games into account? For example, Houghton play Washington Academy on the Sunday before these two games, do I then think (for example) "Pete played for Houghton and has his name down - do I pick somone over him" or do I consider those who may play for Houghton against Whickham on the Sunday AFTER these games.

Personally, I'll be basing my selections on those that play for the 2nds and 3rds on the Sunday BEFORE.

I thought Beefy was now doing the selection for the SMB?

I think that's the right thing to do. I'm happy to play any smb games this season but not at the expense of lads who don't play weekends.

All seems fair. It would be good if venues were taken into account too e.g. Felling games are loads easier for me, Bishop for Liam etc

i thought this awell mate... i remember at the end of last season it was agreed you would be smb captain and beefy would take over in your abscence which unfortunately looks to be permanent for midweek games.

i assume these are tuesday and thursday games... i will be available for both with a preference for the tuesday 3rd....... if required for thursday i may be a little late [10mins or so] hope this helps whoever picks the teams

Yeah, that's how I thought it was, but with me working til 8pm every night now it's not fair me having any kind of input to a team I can't commit to. Originally when I said I'd do it I was working at the airport and finished between 4pm-5pm every day. Unfortunately work comes first.

If Beefy was meant to do it, then Beefy can do it. Assumption on my part that because Craig wasn't doing it, no-one was. Sorry lads!
