Good news people. For the first time this summer BBC Newcastle will be providing commentary of all of Durham's home games in the County Championship.

We start tomorrow with the Sussex match. Join me Martin Emmerson and BBC Sussex commentator Steve Shepherd from 11am on this link

You can follow me on Twitter @Martycricket.

As ever we'd love to hear your comments as the game progresses.

We've decided to change what we do with the cricket this season. By channelling our resources into covering all of the championship matches at home, that means we can leave away games to our sister stations in other parts of the country.

Talking to fans, and receiving emails from so many of you in the last two to three years, we got the impression more of you wanted better coverage of the four-day game.

As far as the T20 matches are concerned, we will cover the home games and leave the away commentaries to our sister stations as well.

Sadly Martin Speight will not be with me this summer, unless Durham reach the latter stages of the T20. He has a new job as a cricket coach at one of the country's leading public schools. It's been great working with him all of this time and I hope the partnership will continue later in the year.

Cheers Marty. I know I will be taking advantage of this when the games are over a weekend, just need to dig out those wireless headphones as the wife wants the garden sorted.

I am another one who far prefers the 4 day stuff, but being greedy, I also enjoy the one day and 20/20 commentaries, so are you still doing those?

Is there anyway to get the commentary on the iphone?

I've got to say, T20 lends itself to radio commentary better than 4 day stuff, but I'll be listening to all 4 days of the Sussex game and I'm glad all home games of both formats are being broadcast. Also, shame Speighty's not gonna be on anymore as your craic was really good.

i much prefer commentary of the 4 day over one day/t20.

firstly, theres more cricket that way

secondly, theres less happening in the cricket so more chat & banter

funny, but i read your post in your voice, it was as if youre talking in my head
