Seriously, how is he near the England side?

Batting - has a decent eye, seems to aim everything for cow corner, but has no ability to build an innings. Not a destructive enough batsman consistently to compensate for his lack of ability to build an innings

Bowling - the master of the long hop

Fielding - pretty decent in the deep.

The epitomy of a bits and pieces cricketer. not good enough in any area of the game.

End of discussion.

I agree with you but I'm not sure there are that many players in the county game that are worth a place ahead of him in the ODI squad. However, that says more about the state of English cricket than it does about the ability of Luke Wright.

There are better batsmen

Cook
Taylor
Hildreth
etc

There are better bowlers
Tremlett
Rashid

He's nee worse than that carthorse Yardy like.

Although both are fairly diabolical at international level.

The only international class part of his game is his fielding, his batting and bowling aren't even England Lions standard IMO. England should stop wasting his and their time by picking him as a spare part in ODI squads and send him back to county cricket to advance himself and work out what type of cricketer he wants to be.
