England vs Ireland, Match Thread

For the third game in a row, and we've only played one major team FFS.

I cant understand how our fielding has got so bad so quickly. I didnt see any of the ODI series in Oz, but in the summer we were a fantastic fielding side, and bar Morgan this is the same team.

Mental, left work and Ireland were about 170/5, told you it would peter out

Seriously though our 2 opening bowlers have looked woeful so far in this tournement and for all I criticised England for not picking Yardy in the opening game, he's looked innocuous in the following 2 games.

Big problems, at least Bresnan seems to be holding his nerve but I think Strauss made a mistake bowling Swann out so early in the innings.

f***ing hell Bresnan. Smack him in the head, then gives him something short and wide

Just bowl at the stumps like he did on Sunday ffs.

If catches win matches then dropped catched lose matches. Looks like being shown to be correct.

Prior,Struass and Yardy have all put chances down that you have to take to win tight games. It wouldn't have been tight if one of them had stuck.

England look spent. Strauss is unable to influence anything.

One major selection error. Shazad should have been retained ahead of Broad.

5 down with about 130 on the board, three times it went through the slip corden which was empty. He hasn't got a feild for the bowlers to bowl too. Pathetic

Indeed. If he had been pro-active when Swann was tearing Ireland apart and had a first slip he would have had O'Brien second ball. He's far too rigid in his captaincy.
