I know, there wasn't a stand out bowler today. Even Bresnan who got 5 wickets didn't do that much. Just bowled at tail-enders.

A flat track in India isn't going to help any bowler.

The Indians set a track up to try and help Ghambir, Tendulkar and Sehwag to bat to 100's each. It nearly failed. Even towards the end of our innings there was nothing in the pitch.

if people wanna jump on the bandwagon when Jimmy makes Ricky 'one hundred in 2 years and 3 years past his best' Ponting his bunny, then they should be able to show their faces when he gets licked by the worlds best batsmen

In test cricket, yes. And Swann is a very good one day bowler but he's not prepared mentally or physically for this tournament after coming out to Asia a day before the tournament and leaving his new born kid days after he was born.

And Jimmy is always expensive in ODIs. Albeit not this expensive.

bit of a worry when he is our spearhead aint it, perhaps thats why we dont win anything in 50 over cricket

Wernet you one of those jumping on the bandwagon about Englands depth of bowling resources in Australia, whats Swann coming out late gotta do with it then..

Lets be fair EB, the pitches have been flat. Very flat. As I said, even towards the end of our innings, the bowlers were getting no help. Bresnan only got 5 wickets as it was mainly tail-enders flailing the bat around. Sachin didn't make anyone look like anything, he merely took advantage of a good batting strip. Because if you're going to suggest that, then you're going to have to say that Strauss made their attack look similarly bog-standard.
 
Had a daft £2 on England at over 8 to 1 on Betfair during the interval.

Can't believe it was a bloody tie!! This is my luck all over and why I should not really be allowed to have a betfair account.

At the end of the day, thats a good result for us though. Should be enough to give the lads the confidence they need to get back to the form we were showing prior to the ridiculous 7 match series v the Aussies.

The world cup format is still too long for me, 6 games each to get rid of less than half the teams in the competition and almost everyone could probably name 5 of the eliminated teams here and now. Ireland, Netherlands, Zimbabwe, Canada and Kenya. Its almost as if the first 6 games are a warm up for the last three.

Because you only seem to understand the difference between test matches and ODIs when it suits are argument.

In ODI's yes, in Tests no.

Most bowlers in this tournament have looked ordinary so far.
