Massive blow for England, without him England lack a finisher and anyone with any invention in the batting line-up.

Bopara is his replacement.

only thing I can tink on a posative note is Bopara will give us more bowling options when we play the 7 batsmen

How hard to both batsman and bowlers find it sometimes to crack international cricket. Yet Wright has to get both forms of the game right. He has also come into a relatively mediocre/poor England one day side who are often putting out patched up sides at the end of test series. In addition he has been batted in just about every spot in the side.

Think he deserves a bit of slack

he has failed nigh on every time, in which ever position he has been tried

he is never required to bowl a full quota as is not trusted by the captain.

you are prepared to give him a bit of slack, yet these standards are not afforded to anderson, who has been part of two ashes winning sides now

I think we will win. Wright will take 10 wickets in the final AND score the winning runs.
:lol::lol::lol:

if this happens, i promise to buy the full squad of smb cc, a meal to the value of £5 each

if it doesnt happen, the smbcc memebers will all chip in £5 each, to buy a meal for that value to fill my belly

fair enough?

And Cartwright will still find some way of criticising him.
i really want it to happen but its a bit like capello picking heskey for the world cup squad, despite all known evidence

Diffiuclt to compare as we are a much better test side than one day side. In addition the standard of one day cricket is far greater than test cricket at the minute

I agree with that. He Did ok in this series when he had the chance he bolwed ok and should have had two wickets and did ok with the bat. Strauss needs to put more faith in his bowling his Econ is ok considering he is a bit part bowler and is probably a better bowler than collingwood was at this stage of his career and is batting is ok just needs to learn how to build d an innings.

by the way, when the cricinfo fantasy league is set up, is anyone intending to select wright?

have a look at collingwoods bowling and batting ODI statistics averages arent to dissimilar Collinwood has a higher ecconomy but has a higher batting average although Collingwoods batting position stayed pretty much the same.
