Danielle Hazell is an English cricketer.[1] Born in Durham in 1988 she plays for the Sapphires in the 'Super Fours' competition and was a late inclusion into England's successful World Twenty/20 squad in 2009,[2] replacing the injured Anya Shrubsole, although she did not appear in the tournament.

She is a right-handed batsman and off break bowler. Up to November 19, 2010 she had played 10 one day internationals and ten Twenty/20 games for her country.

Do you know what local side's she was involved with? I played against a lass years ago who played for Bearpark who was involved at county level I think, she will be about 22 now aswell so just thought it may be her

i dont mate. thats her facebook pic, so she might talk about it on there. i got the pic off google and the info off wiki.

just heard bumble mention her durham link during the commentary on the highlights last night

A member of the Durham Academy, and with coaching qualifications, the top-order bat and off-spinner Danielle Hazell is a firm part of the ECB's future. She has been part of the Durham age groups and senior squad and has even been included in the senior England women's squads for some exhibition matches. She has good technique with both bat and ball and started playing because of her dad who plays for Bearpark in Durham.

Remember hitting a square cut to me fielding at cover point, rocketed it did, couldn't feel me little finger for about 15 minutes :lol:

:lol: I don't mind she was tough as nails. She batted so well that our captain reverted to bowling bouncers to her, didn't go down well like, bouncing a 15 year old lass (she might have been even younger tbh). Also remember her catching a skyer during our innings, Australian style with hands pointing upwards, and then pointing our batsman towards the pavilion afterwards :lol:

Do recall her looking the part like, cricket wise of course ;)

she sounds like a feisty one :lol:

might have to watch the second womans t20 now
 
the overall standard of womans cricket is poor

watched a few of the test players last year in a club game as they hired out ground out, they are good at running between the wickets, but dont have the power to beat the infield, hit boundaries or bowl quick.

Most of the womans test side are between 1st and 2nd team club standard

The game we played against her was a 2nd XI game in what I'd call a very average league by local standards. I'd say that technically she looked superior to everyone else but not class if you know what I mean. Then again, I was too busy hoping she wouldn't hit the ball towards me again :lol:

they have the technique without question and are good fielders, good runners etc but thats because they are semi pro and practice a lot. However, they just dont have any power

Her name is Danielle Hazell.

She plays for Durham City and formally Esh Winning. One of Coach Kennys players who also coached Karl Turner and the new name to watch out for Jack Burnham (under 14 county player).
 
Sure she still trains a bit with Kenny and goes to the nets with the rest of the Esh Winning team.

Her dad Geoff is one of the coaches at Durham City.

Yes know them all Burnham won seconds county league batting had 3 tons he's only 14 :confused:

Yes mate. Played with her for a few years at Bear Park.

Really enjoyed those years. Top lass, good fun and her dad Geoff is a top bloke too. Her mam is proper into cricket aswell, scores for Durham city IIRC.

Loads of lads took the piss, untill she showed them how to gan on. For us she was primary a number 3 bat, then come on 2nd change with her dibly doblys. Her throw is awesome, put all our team to shame. :oops:
