Cool SAFC player guessing game

Just came across this - very cool game, a hard one to start with!

Only 2 games played before we were even a league side. Ridiculous really.

I had 4 letters on my last guess (Gooch, I knew it wasn't right as I already had an A of Vic Halom and the H was incorrect).

Seems the person who created this had his thread deleted after I replied.

I did ask if it was from 60s or something. I’ve done 3 guesses, have 3 letters correct and 2 in the correct place. Can’t even figure out names that will let me lose, using the letters remaining.

Cheers mods. Wasted a good hour of my evening and nearly burnt my tea.

If you actually wanted to just lose and find out the answer you can just repeat names you’ve already guessed

Ffs, read my post again. I was trying to lose because I had no idea but was still trying to use the letters remaining to try in defeat.

Anyway, your advice is not welcomed as it’s too late now. My toast and kippers was overdone.

Sorry today’s was difficult

I’m looking at either changing it so words can be guessed and not just names, which helps get letters

Or

Limiting the year on which the player is from.

I know it’s a rough one to start but as I say I don’t select the name it’s completely random and there’s lots of names in the database. It changes daily.

I would recommend using the stat cat website to help on the tougher ones

Can you make it longer and allow people to guess spaces? So if it's a five letter name, and you guess Sorensen, it'll say you have three spaces?
