Theyre after that Harwood Bellis too apparentlyYou must be logged on to see media items

It honestly wouldn't be that bad a signing, free agent, experienced. They could do worse. You must be logged on to see media items

Which kind of tells you his back up isn't worth £20MBecause they spent £16m on Verbruggen 3 years ago.

Not that I want him here mind!
Yeah but you've blown an extra £10M of a limited budget.Roefs would still have been a brilliant signing for £20m. They're getting a young, quality, homegrown keeper for pennies in PL terms. Be very unlikely they don't make money on him, of course it's a great signing.
Shite and a bell end, great combination.Theyre after that Harwood Bellis too apparently
His injury record is appalling. You'd be putting your eggs in a leaky basket. It honestly wouldn't be that bad a signing, free agent, experienced. They could do worse.

£20mThat's what we'll do with the rest of the team. Rushworth is the most important signing we will make both financially and on the pitch.
So if you've seen him play, why are you so amazed at the fee?
We would have all taken 17th before a ball was kicked. Coventry last season were comfortably worse than Burnley the season previously and are going down a similar route of signing ex loan players and seemingly ignoring our blueprint. The difference in attitude between the Coventry fans on here so far this summer compared to the Sunderland fans EARLY last summer are poles apart. This time last year we mostly thought we’d go straight back down, whereas the Coventry fans seem to have very high opinions of their players…
We ended up recruiting incredibly well and we’re simply pointing out that the newly promoted teams will likely need to do the same to survive.
This nonsense about arrogance isn’t true, and it’s disingenuous about what the majority are saying. Most are merely pointing this out…

Exactly this, we’ve been up a year so we have an idea, it isn’t arrogance at all. If I’ve been in a job a year I don’t know it like the back of my hand but I know more than the person who started yesterday. The difference in attitude between the Coventry fans on here so far this summer compared to the Sunderland fans EARLY last summer are poles apart. Complacency is key ...Going to be mint next season, a European run with no chance to be relegated with these three in the league.
Copying our model might be tempting for conventry ... but it is risk heavy and many who sign up for it might want assurances about relegation clauses in player contracts which is where conventry might have real problemsIt really is weird, even after buying Xhaka and spending nigh on 170 million on a team that included defenders from the likes of Atletico Madrid and PSG and another who was in some media outlets defence of the season in Spain we were still incredibly doubtful. Coventry fans are all over the web claiming they are the best ever promoted side from the Championship despite getting less points than both Leeds and Burnley last season and conceding far far far more goals (more than we did that season and we stopped trying the last couple of months or so).
Their defence is shite at present and they are of the opinion a keeper who conceded more than Patterson did for us is going to be more than good enough and worth blowing a third of their (alleged) budget on. They need to completely revamp their defence and find some ridiculous bargains as we did or it'll be a hell of a long season.
Regis makes this same point. Says yes we know it will be another big challenge and that Europe can take 10 points from you. But the knowledge gained from the 38 games under the squad's belt is massive.Exactly this, we’ve been up a year so we have an idea, it isn’t arrogance at all. That would have meant us finishing what 16th / 17th this season? I’d take that if it meant we won the Europa League mind ! That said I don’t think you’ll need 40 points to stay up next season.Regis makes this same point. Says yes we know it will be another big challenge and that Europe can take 10 points from you. The europa should focus minds on not only recruiting for it but more critically the needs and demands of thd PL.
The massive opportunity we have is to grow beyond what we currently are: but like any evolution ... the real challenge is making the right changes. Second seasons can be more tricky than ths 1st but I have faith that we are better equipped than anytime before

Yeah, he says, on average a team that starts in Europe "is supposed to lose 10 points", but it doesn't sound for 1 minute that anyone's accepting that. He does also say however that because of Europe we need 3 or 4 additional, consistent players in different positions. By consistent I'm guessing he means first team ready as rotation will be important. That would have meant us finishing what 16th / 17th this season?
