Hope he's OK. I can remember watching the game when he first took ill, it was horrible.

You would think he'll be hanging up his boots now

Shit. Does he still have the defib? It's the best initial failsafe at least.

He does, and it did exactly what it was meant to. It got his heart beating properly again, and he was conscious within seconds and walked off the pitch under his own steam afterwards.

Exactly, the pacemaker kicked in.. doctor has just said that...it restarted his heart... absolutely amazing them things

It takes some balls to be brought back from the brink of death from cardiac arrest and play football again, let alone top level pro football!
I have the utmost respect for the lad and his determination to do what he loves despite all the odds, but I think he'll retire now, and IMO it's absolutely the right thing to do.

He's had a second chance at life and an incredible return to the game. I wouldn't push my luck if I was him. He has loved ones to consider.

I hope he's alright, I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up getting a transplant, tbh.
