I have no idea if Boro would be interested in taking Rosco, if there was any chance of him leaving Southampton, though given the way they (Boro) threw promotion away, because they couldn't convert the chances they created in the latter part of the season, I would imagine their owner would want to ensure they give themselves the best possible chance of winning promotion, next season, and bringing in a competent striker, would certainly help their cause.

if he can leave for free I imagine his agent is quickly phoning rangers, Celtic and Hearts seeing if they will match or better his Southampton deal and if they can’t he will sign that extension.
