I’ve also seen them fly across the workshop! Thankfully never had one knock my teeth out yet!Having seen one come out of the jaws of a compressor I don't blame you

I wish id kept my place on i had, just wasn't using it much. Iv had these Sykes pickavant spring compressers for about 30 years, they have 2 half inch sockets welded to them for ease of use with the impact wrench, i like to live dangerously. They're very well made tbf.I’ve got a lock up, with a ramp, compressor and all the gear that me and a few mates use to piss about in on our own cars (they buy and sell a bit) and even with a proper spring clamp it’s dicey. Especially as Jazzy said with the Citroen ones I think they are where they’re about a metre long decompressed and need to go down to about half of that to fit.
Aye got some of those but also bought a proper compressor (not floor mounted though).I wish id kept my place on i had, just wasn't using it much. i haven't had a broken jaw yet off them, touch wood.

Got out the trade years ago thankfully, just look afer my own stuff these days.
Yours will be no use these days, it’ll all be imperial.Still got all my gear from when I served my time in the 70’s .
Got a canny socket set , made up of Gordon , Britool and a smattering of Snap On all in a big Britool socket box.
I’ve got a 1/2” x 9/16 “ ring key from Snap On which is showing a little rust / wear that hasn’t been used for decades , I’m tempted to find the Snap On man and get it changed under guarantee
Had my gear out yesterday by chance , some daft twat had reversed slightly into my low bumper and pushed the grill / driving lights in about 30mm
Jacked the front wheel up , took it and the wing liner off and got everything back into place and clipped up.
Knees were on fire afterwards![]()

Aye it’s not an easy trade on the body, moneys shite too in comparison to a lot of much easier jobs, main reasons I got out when I did. Never looked back in all honesty.
Still love keeping my hand in and repairing/servicing my own stuff, just couldn’t do it every day, far more easier ways to make a living, can see why the trade is struggling to recruit.
If you’re not using them move them on. They’ll come a time when il have to sell my stuff on, and I will once I wrap up. I’d hate for one of the family to have to do it when I’m no longer here.Got a selection of metric sockets and Spaniards man , not that I use them mind , just the occasional spray of WD40 on everything.
Trolley jack and axle stanzas well.
Should really get rid of them but I can’t bring myself to.
