Barts is the oldest hospital in the world that's still on its original site, where it's been since 1123. For reasons I don't fully understand this absolutely does my head in.
Alice did do a series with lots of dressing up, the British Towns one. It was a good series.
Aye, Britain's Most Historic Towns, was a canny series, and she did do some dressing up in old costumes, during the series.
Just watched all 3 episodes, enjoyed it

Barts starts tonight
Watched the first 3 episodes of the Barts Hospital, very good and interesting. Not sure why they haven't added all the episode's on to download like they normally do

I listened to her ‘Desert Island Discs’ a while back.
When she worked as a surgeon in a children’s ward, so did her rounds on roller skates.
(There’s more to it but that’s the gist)
Her archeological work originally stems from tests she performed on human bones to identify their age and origins
(FYI her ‘disc’ music choices included Pixies, Smashing Pumpkins, Sisters of Mercy and System Of a Down )
